Overview

All-on-4 dental implants offer an advanced method to secure dentures for a full restoration. This procedure works by implanting the screws (implants) into four areas on each arch. In comparison to other implant dentures, All-on-4 uses fewer implants to get a secure fit. Dr. Kenneth Ingber and his experienced dental team recommend All-on-4 implants for patients who are looking for a fully restored smile without the hassle and dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. Many Washington, D.C. patients have reaped the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4 process, enjoying high-quality results. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4 implants and custom dentures, we welcome you to schedule an appointment at Ingber Dental.

Best Candidates

Implants by All-on-4 can be used to replace the upper and/or lower arches with implants attached to custom-made dentures. You might be an ideal candidate for All-on-4 in case you prefer the benefits of implanted dentures over removable dentures, which include few or no dietary restrictions, no messy adhesives, and no special cleaning. You will need to have good bone and gum density to be a candidate as the screws rely on your bone and gums to maintain them in place. If needed, bone and/or gum grafts may be performed before implant surgery. Dr. Ingber and his team can determine whether this process is appropriate for you during your initial consultation and can help discuss all your options.

What to Expect

To start your All-on-4 treatment, we will take scans and x-rays of your teeth. We will create your unique treatment plan and talk about your options for sedation during the process. In your first appointment, the implants will be placed in your mouth. A temporary denture will be placed over the implants while your mouth heals and your custom dentures are being created. After several months, you will return to have your custom dentures attached and then adjusted for a good fit.

Recovery

You may experience some discomfort and pain in your gums after implant surgery. During the time you are using temporary dentures, there will be some diet restrictions and cleaning instructions to follow. You will also visit for regular follow-ups during the healing period so your progress can be monitored, and we can be sure that the implants are integrating into your jawbone and gums as they should be. Once your custom dentures are put in, you can clean them, like natural teeth, with daily brushing and flossing. You should continue to see Ingber Dental for annual exams and bi-annual cleanings to maintain your dentures and so the health of your mouth can be monitored.

Insurance Coverage

Some insurance plans may offer limited coverage for All-on-4 implants and custom dentures. It is likely that there will be some out-of-pocket costs, but our team will work with your insurance to maximize your coverage. If you do not have insurance, Ingber Dental accepts many payment methods, including low-interest financing. Our financial team can help make your All-on-4 treatment as affordable as possible.
