Like many people, I dread going to the dentist because of some horrible experiences I’ve had. But I have to say that my recent visit to Ingber Dental for my cleaning was one of the best experiences that I have had. My hygienist, Chanel was very thorough and very gentle. I actually felt myself relaxing. If I could have her as my dental hygienist for the rest of my life I will never miss another cleaning. Fantastic experience! I also had my exam done for the first time by Dr. Kaitlin Delaney. I appreciated her warm professionalism, the thoroughness of her exam and the fact that I didn’t feel like she was rushing between patients. Overall, a fantastic team and fantastic experience! More

The absolute best. Ask for Cindy to clean your teeth. She has been doing it for almost 30 years and is super gentle but still gets the job done! All the Dentists are wonderful and informative. Dr. Delaney is AWESOME. I love her. She really takes the time to access your situation and corrects it. She is very thorough and does an excellent job in providing you with the needed care. She completed my front bridge in the office within the allotted time frame suggested and I left her office with a beautiful smile. Dr. Delaney called me that same day later in the evening after having my bridge work to see how I was doing and that was amazing. She also gave me her personal cell number in the event I experienced any problems. Her assistant Randi is AWESOME as well. She is very hands on in assisting Dr. Delaney while caring for patients. I felt at home although in the dental office with Randi and Dr. Delaney. I am not a big fan of Dentists, but my worries and concerns were dismissed during my visits. It's always difficult to move and find new dentists and doctors and every other professionals one needs. But finding Ingber Dental was a great find. The office is warm and welcoming. I have been a patient of Dr. Porvaznik (Dr. P) for approximately 15 years. Since I live in a distant Maryland suburb, when I retired in 2007 I had planned to find a dentist closer to home but could not bring myself to make the break since I have never had a dentist who is as skilled and personable as Dr. P. I continue to make the long trip (about two hours) to D.C.for my dental appointments and expect to continue as long as possible since I have always been extremely satisfied with my experience at Ingber Dental. Seems to me that Ingber Dental should deal with the administrative and insurance claims and if they are denied or partially reimbursed, bill me at a later date, not the other way around. More

This was my initial visit to the Ingber practice and found the staff extremely welcoming.  The on short notice, the practice bent over backwards to get me scheduled with a dentist for a second opinion.   My scheduled appointment time was 0800, I was in the chair seeing the hygienist at 0803 and the dentist shortly after my X Rays.  I was very frustrated and had completely lost confidence with my previous dentist.  Ingber, was professional took the time to explain what I needed and discussed my options,  Ingber answered my questions, even when I repeated asked questions for my clarity.  I am excited about returning to Ingber and having them as my primary dentist.  Another Ingber review after installing a crown. I've been coming to Ingber Dental for 4 years. I was in between jobs when a filling cracked and needed immediate attention. Dr. P was able to see me immediately and also worked with me on billing, waived many of the fees and completely repaired my filling . I couldn't have asked for better treatment. More

I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist - I can't stand the metal sound on my teeth/scraping/saliva/any single part of the entire experience. I get extremely anxious and usually cry when I'm getting my teeth cleaned. The staff at Ingber Dental have been so kind to me, even though I'm a really annoying patient. They're patient and sweet and supportive. After my first cleaning with a hygienist I had never met before, my stress was through the roof and the experience was difficult for everyone... but the next time I came in and saw that same hygienist, she had planned ahead of time for my visit and adjusted her normal routine to make the whole experience easier for me. That kind of forethought and support meant the world to me, and I'm so grateful for her kindness. I also went in this week for a cavity filling. It was my first cavity and my anxiety was through the roof the entire week leading up to it. The front desk staff was incredible - they were also incredibly sweet and understanding to me. I am ashamed that I don't know her name, but one front desk staff member was particularly sweet and comforting to me and I hope that she is recognized for her outstanding customer service. During my filling, Dr. Singh and the wonderful woman who assisted her were quick and efficient - they knew I was anxious and were so incredibly sweet about it. I'm literally so embarrassing at these appointments - I cry like a legit baby. But the assistant actually lent me her phone and headphones so that I could listen to music during the drilling and comforted me about my irrational anxiety. Thanks to everyone at this office for being so supportive and kind to the biggest crybaby in the world. Hopefully I never ever get another cavity again, but if I do, I know I'll be in good hands. After 20+ years of searching, I finally found my dental practice in DC! I have never waited more than 5 minutes for my appointment. They take a "wait and see" approach and do not push expensive, unnecessary procedures, but, when warranted, they also treat issues aggressively - a perfect balance. They are sensitive to the expense of dental treatment for those who, like me, are without dental insurance. I've generally had great experiences with Doctors Ingber and Porvaznik. Typically the office visits are great and the staff is very nice. I had to take off a star though because of last minute cancellations due to hygienists not being able to come in. I always hate going to the dentist because I have a lot of anxiety about having my sensitive teeth scraped and poked. However, my experience at Ingber yesterday was extremely positive - I told the hygenist, Lindsay, that I was anxious and had sensitive teeth, and she could not have been more sweet and reassuring about it. She took the time to be as gentle as possible while still providing a great cleaning - my teeth feel great! She was also knowledgeable and gave me great dental advice. I was extremely satisfied with her service and grateful for her kindness. My dentist, Dr. Singh, was also very nice and intelligent. Atmosphere in the office is pleasant and location is very central and convenient.The only downsides -- it can be quite difficult to book an appointment, especially for cleanings (presumably because they are very popular). They are expensive (but you do get value for the dolllar). And once or twice at the cleaning appointments I've felt like I was being lectured to like a little child about flossing (Even though I haven't had a cavity in 15 years and am pretty assiduous about tooth care).Those are minor cavils. On the last point, I've had to cancel/reschedule at the last minute a few times, and the staff has always been great about finding me a new appointment. I've never been charged a late cancellation fee (I think they have a policy in place, but it's not enforced if you explain nicely). I also get various email/text/call reminders starting about a week before my appointment, which is helpful since most of us choose to forget that the dentist exists between teeth cleanings. In terms of the dentistry itself, I've never felt like I'm being upcharged for problems that don't exist. Granted, I have good teeth that haven't needed much beyond routine cleanings, but I've found Dr. Ingber to be attentive, thorough, and quick. I once brought up a slight shift in my bottom teeth, which had a permanent retainer on them at the time. He recommended an appointment with Dr. Porvaznik, which I was able to get on the books for the following week. Dr. Porvaznik followed the same pattern: helpful, friendly, and not pushy at all. He quickly discovered that the retainer wire was starting to lift from the back of my teeth, creating the uneven pressure that was causing the shift. He explained to me that this issue is why he doesn't recommend permanent retainers (which my old ortho had installed about 10 years ago and declared as something that would keep my teeth straight for life...guess not). He suggested doing a series of Invisalign retainers to correct the movement and then a final version to maintain the straightened teeth. Since I've invested a lot in and care quite a bit about my teeth, I agreed with this plan, expecting the additional visits and progressive retainers to cost me upwards of a thousand dollars. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the whole process came to just $200 and accomplished exactly what I wanted. I'm surprised and perplexed by some of the one-star reviews; perhaps the staff has turned over or I've simply never encountered the problematic individuals. I also know that dental patients aren't always pleasant themselves, so for potential newcomers: I'd suggest trying for yourself and drawing your own conclusions. More

I’ve been his patient for years now, and although their office is now out of my dental network he continues to work with me to pay for crowns, implants, mouthguards, fillings, and small cracks. He always suggests all of the options if I need work done, and lets me choose which is the best fit for my budget and my health needs.  He’s fixed failed/poor dental work I had at another dentist, and preserved my tooth structure in every possible way.  He answers his cell phone on the weekend in an emergency, and Carrie, Angie and the crew will fit me in without question for an appointment, whether something is loose, cracked, painful, or needs adjusting. What to say about Dr. P?  He is kind, thorough, fair, and very fun.  I’ve been his patient for over 8 years and can only say positive things about him.  His office staff are easy to deal with, he is not too difficult to get an appointment with, and I always feel very well taken care of when I’m in his exam chair.I’ve had two occasions to see his partner, Dr. Ingber, who was also a really wonderful dentist.If only all medical professionals could be as fantastic as Dr. P! it is true that his fees are not cheap but he doesn't try to rip you off by recommending unnecessary treatment. He also seemed very knowledgeable to me. I think I can trust his diagnosis. More

I highly recommend Dr. Ingber!  I joined the practice about a year ago at a friend’s recommendation.  I have gone for two routine cleanings and Susan, the hygentist, is very friendly and efficient.  On my second cleaning, I mentioned that I was having some more jaw pain from my TMJ and when Dr. Ingber came in he quickly indicated that my mouth guard was not sufficient.  I had purchased the guard from another dentist 5 years prior and unknown to me, that dentist had never actually fit the guard to my mouth.  Dr. Ingber took a couple of visits to painstakingly fit the guard properly to my mouth as he knew that within my budget I could afford to have the current guard corrected but couldn’t quite afford a new guard.  He squeezed me in for these two visits within a week as I was in the process of moving west.  He is such a very kind and patient dentist who takes the time to walk you through what he is doing.  He even made the time to recommend a new dentist to me in my new state.  I know there are a few negative reviews for him, but I honestly do urge you to give his practice a try.  I’ve been very pleased as have a few other friends who also use his practice. Dr. Ingber has been my dentist for almost 30 years.  His office has a strong commitment to good dental health.  I haven’t had dental emergencies and/or huge dental problems because I have followed his advise in caring for my teeth and gums and the results have been good.   The office is well located and quite punctual.  I have worked in many different locations around the DC area and it’s always been easy to get to his K-Street office.  This means that I’ve have not had to switch dentists and have benefited from continuityty of care.  He doesn’t do needless dental work because he knows my teeth and how they’ve done over the past years.  He’s incorporated technology into his practice in ways that improve record keeping and reduce costs.  He’s up to date on dental techniques.  My dental work is good looking and well done.Given his location and the quality of service he provides he is not a cheap dentist.  Bargin hunters probably should look elsewhere.  I for one don’t want a bargain dentist who is out to maximize volume without regard to my unique dental situation.  I want a quality dentist.  Good teeth are a must-have for professionals in the DC area and his office is in the business of keeping teeth in your mouth and looking good. I've been going to Dr. P for 8 years. He did my invisalign and held my hand through my first cavity ever (for some reason it was very emotional for me- I took it hard). Dr. P. is very personable and always remembers details about me to ask about. I give him 4 stars becuase as usual, the office staff (not dental techs, they're great too) leave a lot to be desired. There is high turnover. Once I had a billing problem (they billed something wrong and insurance was giving me the run around blah blah) and I actually had to email Dr. Ingber (the owner of the practice I guess) because the staff was making me so frustrated I was ready to say to hell with the whole practice. Good help really is hard to find. More

Excellent dentist, supported by an excellent staff More

I came to Dr. Ingber in the winter of 2003. It started with a small call to his office in reference to dental implants. At the time I was wearing an upper denture and was very uncomfortable with that. I would hate going places as I had a fear that my denture would come loose. I had started an implant procedure with another dentist in the NO. VA area, but was very discouraged as he was not listening to what I was saying. I called Dr. Ingber‘s office and was very surprised that he actually returned my call within an hour. I explained over the phone exactly what I was looking for and he told me immediately “No problem”. I met with Dr. Ingber two days later and after taking x-rays he told me exactly what he could for me. The next step was the “hard” one as I was given the price of this procedure. WOW!!! Dr. Ingber emailed me the very next day to see how I felt about what he presented me with. “I just can’t afford that” was the only response I could come can come up with. One hour later I received an email from Dr. Ingber with a solution to both my problems money and implants. He tailor-made a situation for me in regards to not going broke in receiving the implants at the same time. The next step was the operation - wow talk about being scared! I was met that morning down in the lobby by Alex who works for Dr. Ingber, right away I was put at ease by Alex. Next I was greeted by the entire staff as I walked in and again was put at ease. Dr. Arzadon then performed the implant surgery and was absolutely incredible. Once again I was put at ease by Dr. Arzadon and he talked me through the entire procedure. Much to my surprise the pain afterword’s was very minimal. From this point forward I have been in the very wonderful care of Claudia who works very closely with Dr. Ingber. She is an absolute “angel” and I can honestly say that I have never met a person who takes more pride in their work. It took exactly one year from the start to finish the product. The difference this has made in my life has been beyond actual words. I no longer worry about my teeth at all and I always have people tell me how nice of a smile that I have. Dr. Ingber provided me with exactly what I had in mind and best of all was always willing to work with me on the cost. Although I will say knowing what I know now, I would have spent much more to feel the way I do. Thank you Dr. Ingber!!! More
