Overview

While you may enjoy coffee, tea, tomatoes, berries, or tobacco products, these are a few of the most common sources of teeth stains and discoloration. Fortunately, Ingber Dental has a great solution if you would like to brighten your smile with Philips Zoom whitening treatments in Washington, D.C. As a top method of in-office teeth whitening, Dr. Kenneth Ingber and his team of dental professionals are pleased to offer both Philips Zoom QuickPro and WhiteSpeed. Based on your needs, time available, and budget, we will help you decide on the Zoom treatment that is best for you. To enhance or maintain your Zoom in-office treatment, we also offer Zoom at-home treatments.

Best Candidates

Your treatment at Ingber Dental will be selected and customized to create your desired results. For fast improvements, Zoom QuickPro is designed to remove stains on the enamel's surface from foods, beverages, and tobacco products. Zoom WhiteSpeed can also treat surface stains, but it also treats discoloration from aging and certain medications. During your initial consultation, we will assess your teeth's condition and explain which method best fits your needs and goals. You may also need take-home whitening treatments: Zoom NiteWhite or DayWhite. A home treatment can be used either on its own or after your office Zoom procedure to boost and maintain your results.

What To Expect

Whether you are receiving Zoom QuickPro or WhiteSpeed, you should schedule your whitening treatment to follow your bi-annual professional cleaning at Ingber Dental. This will remove plaque and tartar so the treatment application is even on your enamel. After your teeth are cleaned and dried, your mouth will be protected before the whitening process begins. For Zoom QuickPro, every tooth is coated with a layer of whitening varnish followed by a protective sealant. As soon as your teeth have been evenly coated, you can leave our office. After 30 minutes, you can remove the varnish by brushing your teeth.

For Zoom WhiteSpeed, a whitening gel will be applied to your teeth. After your teeth are covered, a special light will accelerate the whitening process. This will be done three times in the course of about 45 minutes. The excess gel will be removed from the teeth before a post-treatment gel is applied to minimize sensitivity and strengthen your enamel.

Follow-Up

We will talk to you about more specific ways to care for your teeth after your Zoom treatment. The best way to sustain your results is to follow a good oral care routine at home with regular brushing, flossing, and mouthwash rinsing. Bi-annual cleanings at Ingber Dental will also help to brighten your enamel and keep your teeth healthy. You should skip staining foods, drinks, and tobacco if you want your teeth to remain bright. You can boost your results with Zoom home kits and get another professional treatment in our office as needed.

Insurance Coverage

Teeth whitening is an elective procedure so it is typically not covered by insurance. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your options and help you decide on the method that fits both your goals and budget. We will also discuss the payment methods we take and medical financing to help make your procedure affordable.
